LONGCHEN NYINGTIK PRACTICE MANUAL NOW AVAILABLE
Khyentse Foundation's latest publication, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche's Longchen Nyingtik Ngöndro Practice Manual: Advice on How To Practice, is now available as a PDF download to all those who are practicing ngöndro. The text was prepared by Chanel Gruber who transcribed, organized and edited Rinpoche's teachings from Germany as per his instructions. Rinpoche has requested that the book be made available free of charge but he has said that there is great merit in formally requesting the book. Any interested parties should send their request email to info@khyentsefoundation.org, stating their name, country and ngöndro teacher.

MADHYAMAKAVATARA COMMENTARY NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE
Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche's entire commentary on Chandrakirti's Madhyamakavatara is now available. Khyentse Foundation is proud to have sponsored the publication of the fully revised and annotated text of Rinpoche's commentary on Chandrakirti's Madhyamakavatara. Bound editions of the Madhyamikavatara Commentary were handed out free of charge to all who formally requested a copy during Rinpoche's new cycle of teachings based in San Francisco in June 2003. Students who did not attend the San Francisco teaching can download the English version of this text for the price of asking. Simply send an email to formally requesting the text and stating your city & country, and we will send instructions to download the complete commentary.

Nearly 1000 Madhyamakavatara commentaries written by Khyentse Rinpoche and published by Khyentse Foundation have been distributed free of charge either in bound form or in PDF downloads since last year. Rinpoche asked the Foundation to make the books available at no cost to any interested student of Madhyamika. Requests have come from Hong Kong, Chile, Italy, Canada, Holland, Australia, Taiwan, France, Singapore, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Russia, Brazil, Japan, Hungary, Indonesia, Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, New Zealand, Bhutan, Switzerland, South Africa, and Norway.

This text is a work in progress and future editions are expected. The Foundation is also in the process of translating the text into French and Chinese and will make these available soon. Please keep checking the web site for updates on availability.

GENE SMITH JOINS KF ADVISORY COMMITTEE
This winter Rinpoche invited professor Smith to join Khyentse Foundation as an advisor. We are delighted that Gene agreed to take on the role despite his busy schedule at the

After retiring from the Library of Congress, Gene helped co-found TBRC where he continues his text preservation work. He is also acquisitions editor at Wisdom Publications and is the author of Among Tibetan Texts: History and Literature of the Himalayan Plateau.

Gene has already been instrumental in Khyentse Foundation's progress restoring texts to the library at the Dzongsar monasteries. A prototype hard drive consisting over 4000 volumes of Tibetan Buddhist texts has been installed in India and trial printing of important texts is planned. These hard drives enable a new way of restoring and printing Tibetan texts in the digital age. The vast Khyentse library in Derge Eastern Tibet that once took the Red Guards of the Chinese Cultural Revolution an entire week to burn could now potentially fit in a medium sized trunk, thanks to Gene and his hard working team at TBRC. We look forward to his valuable input as we move toward fulfilling Rinpoche's wish of making the dharma available to all who request. Welcome Gene!
